I’m slowly working my way through boxes that needed to be sorted a long time ago! I found a bag of these pretty flowers, birds and tiny buttons. I’m a “lists” person by nature; so I made a ‘reminder’ board from a cork placemat that I purchased in Ikea. It’s not big enough to be called a “noticeboard”, but it serves the purpose of reminding me what I need to do…shopping…phonecalls…that kind of thing 🙂
I’m not a fan of plain, brass coloured thumbtacks (or push pins as the box says!). So I made mine pretty with my bag of buttons, flowers and birds. All I did was use my hot glue gun to stick them on. Pretty and simple!
Below, you can see them put to use.
This was a cork placemat that I had bought in Ikea. I covered it with some polka dot fabric from my online shop; and again just used the hot glue gun to stick it down on the back. I finished it by gluing a small piece of ribbon to hang it up.
The resin buttons and flatback cabochon pieces pictured above can bought from the online shop here.
I hope you found this blog post useful and maybe pretty thumbtacks is something you’d want to try. If you’re going to have a noticeboard then why not make it pretty? 🙂
If you do try any of the tutorials then I’d love to see them. You can share and post them to me over at the Facebook page here.
Take care and have a lovely Tuesday,
