Plaited Fabric Christmas Wreath
Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I love it! For some reason, I tend to bypass Hallowe’en and begin thinking about Christmas decorating in September. I’m not alone…right? I work with a sewing group on a Thursday and I came up with this simple Plaited Fabric Christmas Wreath as the perfect project as part of the Christmas Crafts series of workshops that will be working on.
This Christmas Wreath is a simple enough design. It is basically three lengths of your favourite Christmas fabrics, stuffed with polyester stuffing and plaited together. Red and Aqua is one of my favourite Christmas colour schemes. Therefore, for me, using red and aqua fabrics was my “go to” design. Although, I do like a grey Christmas colour scheme so I think that this is the next one I will try.
For this particular wreath, I used fabrics from Etsy Fabric Shop. For the actual wreath, I used a red polka dot cotton fabric, a white self-pattern polka dot spot, and mini red star cotton fabric. The bow was made from the gorgeous Dashwood Studios Snowflake cotton fabric. To make the bow I followed a tutorial that pinned on my Pinterest board.
For the sewing group that I work on a Thursday, I created a PDF Instruction Sheet for this Plaited Fabric Christmas Wreath. This instruction sheet is available for download by clicking the download button below.
I’m an avid Pinterest pinner. Who doesn’t love Pinterest!? I have load more Pins that I have pinned to my Christmas Inspiration board. Check it out and see if there are any other ideas that you find interesting.
I hope you enjoy making this wreath and as always, please feel free to contact me if you need any clarifications on the instructions.
